Determining what raiding group DK will join

Hi all,


There are now three or four groups of individuals creating websites dedicated to the forming of raiding groups for the high level instances such as Molten Core, BlackWing Lair, Zul Gurub, Onyxia...ect.

I am a member and have raided with SilverMoon Raid Alliance, AllianceRaiders, MC Random Access Raiding Experience and am a raiding member with Dark Destiny (guild).

The SRA is very accomplished and well organized. The problem is - they only raid with a select few regular members. This might change in the future if they open up 2 seperate raiding parties when they feel confident with the numbers showing up for 2 concurrent runs each week.

AllianceRaiders is in its infantcy and is trying to gather steam to tackle the likes of UBRS and ZG right now - but I find there isnt enough strong leadership there.

MC Random Access Raiding Experience is new also and is trying to dive into doing MC runs. The leaders seem to know what to do and seem committed and there was a decent turn out for the raid last week. This seems promising for a future SRA copy - if the leaders stay committed and recruit good people who will stay through the learning stages.

Dark Destiny, along with the other raiding guilds do guild only raids - they do let in close freinds when they have the need. They have decent prospects, but in the long run, you either join their guild or will only get an invite if they need you - otherwise it's guildies only. This goes the same for all the raiding guilds - they will only take you if they need you - don't hold your breath and expect a lot of waiting around and not getting in. Also most raiding guilds have a point sysytem so you will not be able to get any loot - you are just there for the experience.


What I would like is to have all Dragoon Knights commit to 1 of these groups for MC/Onyxia raiding. I don't want each of us participating in seperate, various others' raiding groups. Being locked out of the instances when the other DK members want to go raiding with the designated group and we needed your help is something I want to avoid.

All of the raid ready lvl 60 Dragoon Knights should sign up with and try to focus on raiding with one designated raiding groups out there. MC Random Access Raiding Experience seems like the best choice right now for MC raiding on Sundays. Siofrenna, Derricka, Trayus and I have signed up with them so far.

AllianceRaiders is also a group to sign up with for UBRS and ZG runs now and then.

So I guess I would like feedback on your raiding group preference - tell me if there are others. Also I would like to get confirmation and a commitment to the group DK will sign up with so we are ready, able and willing to help out doing the instance runs every week when possible. That way the leaders of the raiding group can properly plan the raid when they can count on certain people showing up most of the time.

I beleive that MC Random Access Raiding Experience holds its MC runs every Sunday at 1pm. Invitations will start at noon so try to be on at noon. Tyllyr and Jywls are the 2 leaders and Siof, Derricka and myself are planning to run with them.

:-/I just signed up MCrare, so I have a login and password. But I'm a little hesistant to add myself to the raid list b/c I'm not 60 yet. Will I be accepted at lvl 57? Or should I wait?

SRA- my experience with sra haven't been very good. some people annoying me, and I was openly told not allowed to come to MC raids because I'm not attuned for Oxy and they do those 2 things together. I get the occational invites for stuff, but the DPK loot system, which is based on how many raids you done, how many boss you helped killing=points. person with the most points get to have first pick... it favors the hardcore players and most likely people like me wont ever get loots.

Allianceraiders- I never see the leader of AR unless it's 5 mins before the set raid time, and last weekend the leader didn't even show up... Also there are not enough memeber in there, and it seems like no one is recuiting. I posted a message about recuiting more on their forum but didn't get any answers. AR has good nice people, but the lack of leadership and organization's killing it. I couple people from AR have been joining MCrare's MC raids for the last couple weeks.

MCrare- I personally like MCrare. and Trayus's been developing good relations with the leaders of MCrare and helping the MT warrior with some build suggestions (yes that's what Trayus does for a living we all know). They are still learning about MC, and trying to do it slowly as everyone learn. Many people in mcrare have done MC, and the slow learning process will eliminate the bad apples from the raid, and eventually it will be a promising group. If you wanna learn how to do everything the right way, MCrare's very good for it, also they have TS for weekend MC raids which makes things easier. For ZG, the leaders are still trying ZG themselves and trying to get a grip on it. Trayus went to ZG runs with them and a few from SRA, it was pretty good

To Kitinth: MC, ZG, Oxy are all lvl 60 perferred because you are fighting a lot of lvl 60+ But don't worry you'll have your chance feel free to join the channel and join the chats

There is now a second SRA group - SRA2 that is being formed. It will be more open with rotations i believe and most people will be from the original SRA group that weren't regulars. They should have some good people and leadership - SRA has gotten to Ragnaros.

I signed up Raien for SRA2 to keep my options open - I dont know if people will give up on MCrare now that SRA2 is up and running as of Oct16 - they are raiding Tues nights and all day Sundays.

Sure, the one day I'm gone and MCRARE dropped Lucifron. Could someone maybe fill me in on what items he dropped, they havn't been posted on the forums yet.

*Sarcasm* Well personally i think the only reason he fell was cuz i did my ritual of luck . */end sarcasm* It was quite a battle though, dropped him in 6 minutes, everything ran like clockwork it was pretty cool. Then we went onto magmadar and he ate us alive, shaved off maybe 15% hp offa him.

Man now I'm really mad grrr. Those are so awesome! The other item was Law Bringer Boots, a pally epic set piece.

Well it has been long overdue, but MCrare has finally implemented a point system for loot. Now loot is given out in proportion to the time and effort you put into the raid.

The random rolling has been phased out thank god. Again, the random rolling has led to much dissatisfaction among the MCrare members.

The point sysytem by what I have read seems fair and honest. I am glad to see it put in place, even if it has been a long time coming.

We have the 1st six MC bosses on farm/not a problem now and should be getting some good loot for all in a systematic rotating way now. Which is good. You now know that you will recieve items after a set amount of time.

The recruitment to MCrare has been placed on hold and all of us that have signed up in the past are eligible to raid every Thurs, Sat, Sun. The policy is that 4 seats for each class will be filled by the most senior regualrs and the other 8 seats in the raid will be random rolled for. I will be watching closely that this happens.

I posted a large response to the changes on the MCrare forums.

These are the DK memebers who are MCrare members and should always try to get into the raids for some fun and loot.

I hope Jes, Derr, myself and any others continue to work on building an alliance of guilds for the gathering of 15-20 people to regularly do UBRS and ZG.

Also, keep recruiting evryone, the more people we have the better grouping we will be able to have.
