I have to say that you cant go wrong with playing a druid.
Great healing
Rezzing
Bear and Cat forms really cool graphically and good fighters - then switch to elf form, heal and switch back.
Underwater form very useful - swim speed and hold breath indefinately.
Good ranged attack spells.
Entangle/sleep spells rock.
Prowling around enemy camps unseen rocks.
Utility and versitile - everyone likes a druid in the party cause they can do healing, ranged and fighting.
Only Night Elves and Tauren can be druids - exclusive group.
Druids rock...
Enough said.

hehe, ever dueled a rogue Raien? they kinda rip druids apart... also people would argue that paladins are the gods... but they are just CHEAP (sorry to plds) ... I love druids ^^ cuz they are shape shifters... and the teddy bear form... and the kitty forms are just too cute... and dire bear!~ ... hehe... it's a brick wall! can heal, can do range attack, can travel fast, can tank... hehe, when you died in bear from or cat form, have you ever seen people that passes by and try to skin you? lol... and and... I personally think... animals skinning other animals is just wrong... Trayus's a druid and he skins animals in bear/cat forms just don't look pretty... hehe... that's why I say: "good job Raien, be an alchemist and get flowers and work with the nature" despite how many people think druid isn't a great class, we still love them don't we? ^^

A little info on druids.
Druids are the worst at healing of all the classes that can heal. The only good things they get are HOT (Healing over time) spells. There cures are slow and not very good on mana.
Bear form is a good form. It is 1 of the few things good about druid. Good armor buff, ok damage and fun to be. But it is ment to be like a warrior but its missing most of the key points that make warrior good.
Cat form is the worst from in the game. Low armor low damage and just weak. The only way to make this form even worth changing into is full Feral spec. My caster from does a LOT more damage and can heal. The cat form really needs to be buffed a little. What you have to understand is druids have very low melee stats. That means a very low DPS with melee weapons. Cat was ment to be a buff to that damage. But the buff is so small you really cant tell. Now in bear form you see a good 15-20 damage less taken. But in cat form you do less damage at a faster rate. But most smart players see that its a waste of mana. When you can just nuke root and cure in caster. Cat is only for fun and looks at this point.
Druid was MENT to be a class that could do everything. To bad thats not how it is. If you like druid, go play shaman and LAUGH at how much better they are at everything. They get shields (something druids SHOULD get) and Mail armor at level 40. Shaman dont need to waste mana on much because they are just a strong class. My level 21 shaman has higher natrual attack power then my level 38 druid. Have you ever seen what a high level shaman can do in terms of damage!! I would say shaman can do damage almost as fast as a rogue. Windfury weapon is INSANE! Throw that together with Flurry and you have a healer that pumps out damage like a rogue. Even better they get travel form at level 20. Underwater breathing spell and water walking to. Reminds me of that saying. "Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better then you!" (I will put more info on the Shaman page)
I do love my druid not because its the best class in the game but just because I enjoy it. It is fun being able to shape shift. The problem is that Blizz does not want to give shaman everything they had in WC. Such as Druid of the Claw form. The only AOE spell we had got a hardcore nerf and now is almost usless. Druid could use a little work to make it better.
Pallys being the gods they are, cure for more using less mana. Druids do get a great buff "Mark of the Wild" But its the only buff they get. Thorns is nothing great but helps when you are taking damage. Druid is for fun, dont expect to be the best at dueling or anything like that. But there arnt many classes that can take on 3 equal level mobs and come out alive. (I am talking level 30+) Druids root spell only works OUTSIDE!! That does not make me happy at all. Mages get an AOE root that is IC AND works anywhere.
I have a lot more info but Derricka is nagging me for ragging on druids. Best of luck have fun with druid.

Makes me think that I should try being a shaman next...
I know Druids are weak fighters and couldnt duel very well...thats why I dont do it.
I play the druid because of the versitility and usefulness I can provide.
Mark of the wild is great plus i have 5 lvls of of the improved Mark of the wild talent which gives it 135% effects. I have this on at all times giving me +5 to all ability stats and +147 armour - great buff. I try to hand it out to everyone.
Swimming can be tedious - but with underwater form move at 150% and no need to breathe - useful.
I do find the cat form not as damaging as I thought it would be... but prowling behind enemies is great.
Bear form can take lots of damage - 1600 armour and I cast regrowth before switching into bear form which gives 300 healing over 21 secs which is useful.
Chaning into 3 different forms keeps the game play exciting and is fun to watch...plus I here the women love us big cuddly bears!
So, yes, if you are looking for straight maxing out of one particular aspect of game play, choose a class that will do that, but realize that you will have a specific purpose always whereas Druids can do a decent job of everything - we can even Rez!

Don't forget hibernate. Lots of enemies in the game are beasts so it can kind of replace root indoors.

Ahh your info is a little off.
The +35% to Mark of the Wild is helpful but doesnt do as much as you thing it might.
The Water form only gets a 50% boost to speed in water. Bringing swim speed to 100%. When you swim you lose 50% speed. So u are just moving at normal speed when in water.
Hibernate doesnt work on higher level monsters. You can cast until you are blue in the face and you wont get it to stick. But thats just at later levels. Early levels it is helpful with "Beast" adds. But when fighting humanoids the spell is usless. And out Indoor only root spell doesnt help eather.
Druid is 1 of the harder classes to understand and use well. But it is a very fun class.

I would say that in theory the cat form should be useful against spellcasters. The rapid attack speed might make spellcasting difficult while the extra defense the bear form provides would not help against spells. So in a situation where you're fighting a spellcaster and you want to conserve mana, the cat form, at least in theory, might be a useful choice. I find the extra physical damage given while in cat form generally is enough to offset the transformation cost, though you may- and in trayus' case probably will- disagree. Also I would like to comment on the druid's ressurection spell. The druid's ressurection spell requires a reagent and has a thirty minute cooldown, however it also has a three second cast time and can be used in combat. In addition it revives with a fair amount of hp and quite a bit of mana which makes it seem like it was intended to be used in the event the main healer in a party died in a critical battle. So its a backup rez spell, and it does a pretty good job at that. As for my info being "off", my druid is only level 25 right now and I haven't gotten much farther in the game with my other character either. So I really can only comment on how druids work out early game and speculate about how they might do later. I should of made myself more clear.

It does work well agenst casters you are right. Because of casters low armor, even the cat attacks can do fast constant damage. With the added bonus of slowing there spells cat is not a bad choice.
You also have to remember that bear has a stun attack and more HP. A good thing to do when you are fighting a caster is... Start off in cat form and get the jump on them. Do as much damage as you can before you hit 50% hp. Be sure to use ur Rip attack before you change back into caster and heal. Then go bear form and build some rage. Wait for the perfect time to stun them. A great time would be a low HP ( if its a priest do it while they try to cure, if its a mage do it while there casting ) Then while there stunned jump back to caster and do a few moonfires to finish them off.
There is more to killing a caster then that but you get the idea. Cat is best used for burst damage. So prowl and get behind them to get off Shred or better. This adds a lot of damage in a short time.

Travel form, whuch turns druid into a cheetah, rox. Its like having a mount and you cover ground so quickly. I am able to run around areas with creatures that are 6 lvls higher than me to collect herbs in no time because i feel safe - I can run away from them and they cant catch up to me!
Also, who else other than druids are any good at harvesting mass quantities of Stranglekelp - Aquatic form rox.
Druids are naturally meant for gathering herbs or mining.
Also, at lvl 30 - druids get rank 4 Mark of the Wild spell - this truely rox! With my Mark of the Wild talent giving me +35% -
I get +8 to all stats, +7 to all resistances and +220 armour (with agility bonus added in).
I have Mark of the Wild on at all times - there is no reason not to!
Oh ya - everyone loves me for casting it on them - it lasts 30 min.
As for combat -
1) Regrowth 2) starfire 3) Moonfire 4) entangle (if you want to repeat steps 2&3) 5) faerie fire now in Hand to hand 6) bear form (1900 armour) - demoralizing roar 7) bash - stun 8) maul 9) transform back if they actually do damage to you - regrowth & moonfire 10) bear form 11) bash - stun 12) maul 13) zip up body into hefty bag and collect loot!

I love playing as a druid! may not be too powerful, but it sure is a blast hehehe now if only i can get around to pushing myself for those last 4 levels till i get travel form..... I heard that Blizzard's gonna up the dps for the cat form as well, as well as give it a direct damage finisher. and also that the feral tree is gonna be redone. i'm lookin forward to those updates, just hope they come sooner rather than later ><. while i have heard that the druids in caster form are the most powerful at higher levels, i happen to have lots of fun being in the other forms

Trayus brings up a good point druids aren't all that god like ill give you that but if done right you can very very easily take out rogues seen it done many a time in cat form. Rogues and kitties are almost equal (remember druids get an awesome buff) most of the time it is who gets the sneak attack off first but druids if they are smart should win we can heal heal heal, outside we should never lose roots star and moonfire bear it up heal throw some wrath old school lol.
