PRIESTS RULES!
I solo most of the time... I can kill things 2-3 lvls higher no problem... this is the order of how I normally do things...
1-Mind Blast (pull monster to you with very high damage)
2-Shadow Word: Pain (instant DOT cast while monster running towards you)
3-Mind Flay (3sec Channel spell, does good dmg w/o using massive MP, slow monster to 50% moving speed allowing less chance for interrupting the channeling)
4-Power Word: Shield on self (absorbs all dmg for 30s or a curtain amount of dmgs, spell will not be interrupted)
5-Mind Blast
6-Attack with weapon and wand and Renew on self (HP regen spell)
7-Mind Blast if needed, new shadow word pain? Flash heal for self? all depends on what you are fighting... But normally by this point the thing is pretty much dead...
8-Mind Flay if they wanted to run away... muhahaha
9-Loot the body for... hopefully blue items ^^ ok not greedy, green will do too...
I think both Frohgurt and I are shadow Priests, that's why we both have Mind Flay, it's a spell that you can only get by investing in Shadow Talents, meaning most of our talent points are in the Shadow Tree talents... This makes Priests good at soloing... we all know Shadow Word: Pain is a great spell... in talent tree, you get to make it last 6 seconds longer... in my DPS records, SWP does over 30% of my overall damage, that thing HURTS... But shadow priests pull a lot of hate... but a good shadow priest would know not to use mind blast so much
... Fade is a great ability to loose some of the hate in a group...
btw... Froh is a great priest...
I found that priest are also easy to find groups... people always looking for healers... but one of my best experience for soloing is with a mage of same lvl... yes none of us can actually do the tanking... but... mage would freeze to the ground and we back up, and NUKE the heck out of it... and then of course PW: Shield whoever's getting attacked... and for the massive cost of MP... mages can conju food ^^ yeah... well we might not be the best team together, but it was FUN! and we walked through things...
anyway, just some of things that I do with my priest... if you like to do dmg as a priest be a shadow priest...MUHAHA..... if you like the more peaceful side... be holy priest... Meow.... all your choice...
PS, A word on the race special spells... Night Elf Priests get Starshards, it's a channelling spell and does constant arcane dmg over secs and dmg increases as + ranks and the channelling time is longer also... looks pretty cool
star like drops fall from the sky bang the monster on the head... I use it more often when I'm in a group... it acts like a DOT, and not much hate, but still good dmg...
