Ive had a few questions about pets since i got my voidwalker. Should i spend the money to pay for grimuoires for my imp still? or just concentrate on my void walker? because i see some abilities that i will be able to get for my imp, that the voidwalker wont be able to get , and vice versa between the voidwalker and other pets. It seems like there is enough of a difference to make choice of pet circumstantial to the event, but i wanted to make sure before i buy new abilities for my imp.

you should still buy all the Demon trainings for ALL of your pets, because you will use ALL of them... Big Blue is good when you are soloing, but Imp has great damamge with range and Blood Pack is always great. So you should always get ALL the trainings for ALL your pets

I agree with Derricka, one should always upgrade their pet’s skills. You’ll find each on has its place. Let me give a run down of the various pets.
The Imp; he doesn’t appear as much, and can’t take a hit to save ether of your lives. But let him loose after you’ve attracted a mobs attention and he can be a heavy hitter especially if you’ve spent skill points on him. At lower levels he’s good as additional DD while in groups (or solo, if you know what your doing, and don’t mind taking a few hits) if you’ve already got a player to be your meat shield. Also in PvP, this little guy shines, for no one gives him a second though until everyone else is dead, so give him free rain to play and dish out all he can. Finally he becomes useful as a mana battery when you hit 41 if you went Affliction (see Talent Tree speech). Now he’s almost my only pet I take when soloing. Plus with Blood Pact on, my soloing style is even easier with the extra HP buffer it provides.
The Void Walker is of coarse your tank in the earlier levels. With his torment ability and your skill at timing damage, you should never be attacked by the chosen sap (er mob). This leaves you free to heal your pet and control any add’s you might attract (remember to Fear, DOT, and repeat as needed). Also of you get to much heat, he’s great to sacrifice for the shield, in which you fear and run for the hills.
Next is the Succubus. I admit I rarely pull this sadist out. She’s very limited in her use. Manly she’s good for crowed control. When in group her purpose is to hold an add till people are ready to deal with it. In PvP, she’s good at stopping a mad rush at you while you fear and DOT the attackers partner. I suppose I can use her same way in Solo mode but Void Walker does just as good if not better with his armor and HP.
Finally the Fel Hound; this little lap dog is great just to annoy priests in PvP. I take great delight in sending him in to eat their shield, their Stamina buff, and their regenerate spell. Oh and he’ll eat their shadow word pain (their heavy hitter spell that ignores armor) of you to boot. They never like that, especially with your DOTs in affect on them.; other then that I’ve never pulled the puppy out.
Well there’s my run down on the pets. As you see, they might have limited use, but all are helpful at some point. Paying for their spell upgrades just makes them that much more successful at their assigned tasks. So I’d advise in buying them as you can; if nothing else, you’ll not have to get them later when a group asks for a particular pet.
Till my next bit of Lok advice, this is Lothnar signing off.
