I know I'm not the only warrior in the guild... So, what does everyone think is the most effective weapon type? I'm going to say 2h axes, but I'll leave my reasoning to see what others think.

I was sticking to a 2h mace until I finally received my wingblade. I've been doing Wingblade + dagger (dual wield) ever since. I've been quite happy not dying as often just because I couldn't get one last swing in with the slow mace.

I have been playing my warrior a little. I bet you warriors didnt know you could stunlock like a rogue.
Thats because most warriors go for offense. So i spent the 1g to respec to defense. Have fun trying to hit me. Dueled a level 24 at level 18 lol.. Almost beat him. He couldnt hit me. Just a few more levels and ill be stunning like mad.
Its called Improved Revenge. Gives Revenge a 40% chance to stun. You can only use Revenge while in Defensive stance and after you block dodge or parry. Most people think, "Well that sucks because you have to do one of those and that doesnt happen that much." But they are wrong. Ever used shield block. 75% chance to block for 5 sec. Dont forget it stacks with your chance to block. So i have an 85% chance to block for 5 sec. And there is your Revenge.
So my fav weapon for warrior right now is Sword and Shield. People dont like the damage loss while in Defensive stance. Go down the protection talent tree. You will see 1h weapon spec. +2% damage per rank with 1h weapons. Gets up to 10%. Now you are in defensive stance with no damage loss but a higher defense AND some very sweet moves. Warriors also have a 5 sec stun after improved revenge.
I think there are to many offensive warriors out there. Try to be special or one of a kind. Go Defensive and watch how strong a warrior can really be. You may not kill as fast but you will be able to take insane amounts of damage. Also Improved shield block. HEH.. read up on it.. *Drool*
Best of luck with warrior.

I, the mighty Mauison, would like to put my two cents in on the subject. In answer to your question, i use whatever it takes to do the job, I am trained in all weapons except staves. At first I was using a 2h mace, but recently I have found a better 2h sword, for when i need the damage. I also dual weild axe and mace, and also have a good shield and mace for defensive tank work. As a warrior you need to be prepared for all areas, as I solo alot, plus when I find my perfect weapon or shield, I'll be ready. Blood and Honor.

After I posted this long ago, I started dual wielding more... Here's my take, and realize this applies to an offensive warrior: My best weapon choice was a 2h Axe (when I could find a good one for my level). The reason behind this choice is that 2h Axe has the best chance of getting a crit, particularly with Axe specialization. Also, since its damage is very high to start with (like all 2h weapons) and several INSTANT rage effects do weapon damage, the slow speed often is not a factor. My other choice was to dual wield, usually whatever I could get, but in general a main hand axe (for the extra crits) and any 1h (I was starting to like daggers for their speed). This reduced the effect of those same rage effects, but generally made rage faster, parried more often and never seemed to let up. Plus those mobs that get down to 10HP, but hang on long enough to get that last hit in before your 2h could swing... well... didn't. In this mode I was very fond of Execute, since it didn't rely on weapon damage, just rage. If you could get a mob to 10% HP with a 1-4 damage dagger, you can do close to 1000 HP with one strike (lvl 3 execute and 100 rage).
That's my 2-bits worth... sorry I couldn't remember the names of my favorites Instants...

Im trained in all weapons avaliable to a warrior out of all i decided that dual weilding swords was my best choice so i got the sword spec talent in the arms tree(my talents at 60 will be 31/5/15) in addition to my sword spec passive racial ability as human. I also have a good 2h sword for pvp but in pve i always dual weild unless im tanking in a group then ill switch to shield.
