Hey, anyone plays or used to play FFXI? I'm still playing FFXI, I'm a level 60 Bard, right now, still leveling up... Too bad WOW doesn't have any jobs like bard in FFXI I love my bard... Got 10 different +1 Instruments. Shhh... I'm a collector of instruments ;D FFXI is just such a huge game with stories... less than 20% of the game is done, but I think I saw 20% of that 20% lol... Seriously, if you are lvl 75 (highest cap) and there are still things that can rape you in 3 hits... that's just wrong T_T ... it should be you raping them Comparing FFXI and WOW... well up and downs, can't really compare... I think WOW is much easier to play... and you don't loose exp when you die (cheer), but have to fix equipment (cry). Too bad you can't sell your nice equipment back on the AH when you are done like FFXI, cuz they are soulbound Anyway, just a few thoughts... So anyone else? I'm sure there are a few of you played that.

I have started Guild Wars in beta testing. It was one of the reasons I started WoW. If anyone plays Guild Wars lets talk.
Thanks

I use to play FFXI as well. I had 14 jobs leveled. Thats a lot harder then it sounds. Take the time it takes to level from 1-10 on WoW. Times that by 5 a and thats how long it takes to get to level 10 on FFXI.. best part is. Unlike WoW where xp goes up as you level. FFXI you always have a chance for the same XP... Kinda sucks. I was a 55 Dragoon, 43 Red Mage, 36 Summoner, 33 Paladin, 30 Thief, 30 Samurai, 25 Beastmaster, 23 Dark Knight, 19 White Mage, 19 Warrior, 17 Ninja, 15 Ranger, 15 Monk, 8 Black Mage. So yeah i played that game a lot:P Anyways thats my old game. I gave that account to my friend in game. He LOVES it. There arent many people that level 14 jobs. So now he gets to run around as me and do all kinds of cool stuff . OK thats my story.. IM done..

Yea...played it for 6 months and finally had enough of it.
My biggest problem with these types of games is, I'm never fully satisfied with what I have and I tend to restart characters, and never touch the older ones.
I must have created about 10 characters in FFXI and got them all to lvl 10 at least before I decided on sticking with my Tarutaru - Whm.
After finally getting teleport at around lvl 36 (if I remember correctly) I was so sick of healing others that I wanted to be a damage dealer. (lol, and now I'm going with the Priest, if you can believe it or not.)
So I started to work on a Drk/Whm. Go figure, no one would invite me into their party. I had a crazy amount of mp, and I was doing more damage than anyone in the parties I got into. I guess people just look at Drk/Whm and think...noob. But I knew what I was doing. Man...I hated that area around Selbina.
If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd probably go with Human Drk/Nin. I could go with Elvaan for huge amounts of damage, or Galka for defense, but in the long run, Human is juuuuust right. Plus, I really love Bastok more than any of the other places.
They were either too cutesy, or the music drove me up the wall. Heck, Bastok has Cid! Can't go wrong with that!
So, now I'm doing the same thing with WoW. I've created countless characters and I've been playing this game from the open beta. I don't really have anything to show for it now except for a lvl 23 Warrior Tauren and a lvl 25 Shaman Tauren (I luv those big guys).
After one night, I got my NE Priest up to lvl 9. You couldn't do that in FFXI! Well, you may be able to, but I wasn't.
All in all, WoW beats the crapola outta FFXI. People say it's too easy, and to them I say, go play something else then. This game is still challenging...especially instances.
I just wanna get my NE up to lvl 30 to get Mind Control. That's one of the coolest moves I've seen in this game so far. The fact that you can control humonoids AND other players makes me laugh out loud.
Here's hoping that I stick with it and see this class to the end!
BTW, that is some awesome work there on all those lvls in FFXI. Very impressive.

well guess ill cough up too I played FFXI for over a year but i already quit. Gave all my items to my friends in stead of selling my account. I started out as a RDM (Red Mage) but it wasn't my kind of a job. Then i went WAR (Warrior) till lvl 18 so i could get my subjobquest. After that i went for a THF (Thief) and i lvld it to 30 at first so i could get my advanced job ;D My advanced job was the only true path known to mankind in FFXI, i was born as a DRG (Dragoon!) Since then i shifted my main job to DRG. When i got to lvl 20 is started a SAM (Samurai) Ahhh in the old days DRG/SAM (yes you can have 2 jobs at 1 time) was a very good combination. Joy still fills my heart at the thought of spamming (and i did spam!) Penta Thrust. I could litteraly Spam Penta's! But then one day came the infamous update They nerfed TP bonus of multiple-strikeing skills. So i changed my DRG/SAM to DRG/THF. At that stage i could hurt mobs beyond Oblivion. SA (Sneak Attack) + TA (Trick attack) + Penta Thrust was realy I quote one of my partymembers " Hey Nenya dont you dare using me as decoy for your TA, i dont want hate from THAT thing" and "Lol Nen you are one crazy devil, dont want to encounter you in a dark ally" and "Yes you truly bring honour to the Dragoons, check out all those corpses behind your back!" Ahh the good old days in FF ... Note: I kinda kicked ass because i had realy good gear, lots of other dragoons could't do what i could because they tend to miss a lot on strong mobs. I had a + 31 accuracy bonus in the end i think (and that is a HUGE bonus) Ow and my Wyvern was called Nanaja EDIT: I was called Nenya too on FFXI dont mistake me with the new Nenya here. I was pretty mad that "Nenya" was already taken in WoW, but no hard feelings new Nenya

I still play FFXI ever once in a while. Kinda hard being here in Kuwait, don't wanna sit in internet cafe doing nothing for an hour while im LFG as a 51 PLD, But I plan on playing it more once they come out with wireless connection. I got a few high 30's jobs also, some that i'm debating switching with my PLD to be my main. RDM, THF, NIN, WHM. -X
