Atlas/AtlasLoot/AtlasLoot Enhanced
A set of mods that provide instance maps for every instance in the game, as well as boss locations. The latter is useful in instances like BRD which are huge and confusing. The Enhanced mod provides loot tables not only for every boss in every intance, but the altered tables for heroics, all reputation factions and rewards including recipes, pvp gear including arena gear with costs, badge of justice rewards, and world boss loot drops. In short, every significant piece of loot in the game short of craftables. An easy way to browse for loot improvements for your character, as well as link cool things in chat for other people.
CTMod
This is my favored bar mod. It also has a nice mail mod that enables you to open everything in your mailbox with a single click rather than manually opening everything. Useful if you put a lot of auctions up at once and don’t care to look individually at everything that sold. The bar mod lets you resize and place up to 9 action bars on your screen at a time, in addition to a pet bar and a “class bar”; warrior stances and paladin auras, for example. You can also attach key bindings to each bar, so you don't have to click on your spells/potions/macros/food/quest items, you can just use key commands. Speeds up your casting immensely by allowing you to display literally everything you can do at once.
Bank Items
Allows you to check what’s in your personal bank from anywhere in the world. Also allows you to check any of your character’s banks from anywhere in the world. Makes it easy to keep track of your inventory on bank alts without contantly relogging.
Moveable Bags
Allows you to move all bag displays wherever you like on your interface, and lock them in place when they’re where you want them. Includes not only inventory bags, but bank bags as well.
Recipe Book
Looks at each of your character’s known profession recipes including cooking. Whenever you come across a recipe in the future, displays information ON the recipe info stating which of your characters know it, have it, or can learn it. Also color codes recipes on the AH by the same system to make it easy to see which recipes yoru various characters need.
SCT(D)
Scrolling Combat Text and (Damage). In additon to damage, also displays effects, and important messages like “Full Sunder” and “Execute” and “Overpower” for warriors, “Kill Command” and “Mongoose Bite” for hunters, and “Full Combo Points” for rogues. Those displays are the only reason I use the mod instead of Bliz’s built in system.
FuBar
Another massively display changing mod. Puts a small gray bar on the top and bottom of your screen with a lot of useful information. FuBar is the base system, and smaller mods can be attached to it; AuditorFu keeps track of money you make, as well as total gold across all your toons, BagsFu keeps track of how many bag slots you have total as well as how many are full, GuildFu keeps track of how many guild members are online, where they are, and displays guild notes and levels all in one window, and RestFu keeps track of the rest bonus status of all of yoru characters. There are innumerable additional Fu’s, and you can find packages on wow.curse.com. The one I originally downloaded was XXXXXX, then I just deleted the Fu’s I never used. The mod is nice because it is infinitely customizable to your play style, displaying only things you think are useful.
Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)
Covered this in the Karazhan mods post. Has information and displays for every major raid bos, and will automatically display timers for them. Vanish for Moroes, Repentance on Maiden, and announcements of LRRH for the BBW in Opera. Also has timers for towers and flags in BG’s like EotS, AB, and AV. I consider this a must have for raiders.
Natur Enemy Cast Bar (NECB)
Another raid mod. Picks up timers for not only trash respawn timers on raid bosses automatically, but party member abilities as well: CC timers, so you know when traps, sheep, and banish will break, and when hurricane, misdirect, or trinket timers are up. Extremely useful.
Decursive
Cleaner mod. Allows preists, mages, druids, and paladins to remove debuffs from party members without deselecting their current targets. The display is easy to use and figure out, and massively speeds up removal of things, which is crucial when dots do 1000 damage per second. Another must have raid mod.
Outfitter
Freakin cool mod. Allows you to organize your gear sets into “outfits”, assign them names, and attach keybindings to them. Extremely useful for any hybrid class or people who have to occasionally serve two roles; druids, warriors, paladins, shaman, even shadow priests. Also useful if you have a pvp set and a pve set. Allows you to switch ALL your gear at the push of one button rather than manually finding and equipping 10 different things. Comes with a “naked” outfit as well, so you can remove everything quickly if the occasion calls for it.
Also does nice things like automatically equip carrot on a stick or riding crop whenever you mount, and unequips it whenever you dismount, so you never have to think about your trinket slots while riding around again. Does the same thing with argent dawn commissions in WPL and EPL, so you’ll always be able to collect Scourgestones. This feature alone makes it worth having this mod for everyone.
Autoprofit X
Automatically vendors gray items whenever you visit any vendor, so you don’t have to manually sell things. Also displays how much money your sold items were worth, so you know how much vendor trash is earning you. This makes it far more justifiable to loot EVERYTHING all the time, because as soon as you visit a vendor, all the useless stuff with disappear and be turned into money.
Autorepair
Same basic principle as above, but whenevr you visit a vendor capable of repairing, it will automatically repair all of your gear. So you never have to worry about “forgetting to repair” because as soon as you open the vendor window, it will be done for you. Awesome.
KTMThreatMeter/Omen
A threatmeter. Essential to control your aggro. A must have raid mod. You already know this. I use KTM, but Omen is also compatible.
Auctioneer
A variety of AH functions, including remembering prices so you only have to set something once (like if you have 8 stacks of cloth to sell). Useful if you play the AH a lot.
Cartographer
Keeps track of guildies on the map, allows you to place notes about locations of things, keep track of minerals and herbs on the map, and shrinks the size of the world map so you can still move when it is open.
Group Calendar
Used by the ugoa to schedule runs and events. Useful but not essential if you’re pressed for free RAM.
