I wrote this for my other guild on my alternate personality: Griefmonger. Found it's been a great success for unsure Pallys in training, so I brought it a cross for you guys to see.
Block one: THE BLOOD KNIGHT BASICS
Holy Spec Pally Healing spell list:
1. Holy Light: Biggest Heal (Rank 11 frequently over 5.5k on tanks non-crit). Biggest mana cost (Rank 11 almost 1k mana). Longest cast at 2.5sec first cast, 2sec after with talent. And of course has biggest agro gain. Mana regain on crit I see is about 590.
2. Flash of Light: Normal Heal (Rank 5 hit between 1.1k and 1.5k non-crit). Cheapest mana cost (Rank 5 is around 190 mana). Cast time is 1.5 sec Mana back from crit is 108.
3. Holy Shock: About same as Flash of Light at Rank 5, Mana cost for Rank 5 is 435 mana. It’s instant cast but has a 15sec cool down. Has about the same agro as Flash of Light. Not sure on Mana back from crit; believe its near 170 mana.
Holy Spec Talent must haves:
Healing Light: Improves amount healed. That said it all….
Illumination: 100% chance to get 60% mana back on a healing spell crit; must have all 5 point or you can’t get Divine Favor or Holy Shock. Since high end healing plate forgoes spirit for spell crit, this is how a paladin maintains mana efficiency.
Divine Favor: This guaranties a Healing spell crit; ergo you get mana back!
Holy Power: Increases all Healing spell’s crit chance. See illumination if you need to know why it’s good…
Holy Shock: 3rd heal of a Holy paladin. Instant cast allows for spot healing with out taking time off from healing main tank.
Other Talents that are nice:
Sanctified Light: Increases crit chance of Holy Light by a further 6%; again see Illumination if still confused by benefits.
Divine Intellect/Holy Guidance: These 2 are a pair; one increases overall intellect and the other give bonus healing power for every point of intellect. You’d be dumb to take just one.
Improved blessing of wisdom: This increases guarantied mana regen; and when healing this is always good no matter what.
Light’s Grace: Speeds up consecutive casting of Holy Light. This allows for ease of shifting heals to other party members and back to main tank.
Divine Illumination: 50% mana reduction for 15 sec; and from what I’ve seen you still get full mana returns from spell casting. You actually can gain mana while this is active. Just spam Flash heals 10 times in that time
