As always, the minutes from our last meeting for your review:
Lower level toons: : I am guilty of this as well, and I want to make amends. For the most part lower level toons have been largely neglected and excluded from group activities and instance runs in the guild. I want to change that both to incorporate the lower toons in guild activites as well as getting people used to working in a group at an earlier level than 65.
Group Calendar: I want to start using Group Calendar a lot more. If you don’t have it, please get it, and if you have a run that you want to do, just put it up. That way at least people know what others need to run, and even if that run falls through, we’ll get it done because it’s on the table. It’s easier than posting things on the website.
The website: I don’t know how many of you check it on a regular basis if at all. I am doing my best to keep it up to date, and have useful information spread throughout so there’s something for everyone. To that end, if you have a question about how to get a key, attunement, mod sites, guild rules, or class specific stuff (hunter warrior and warlock in the works) please check there. I’m trying to make it a useful resource and one stop shop for answering questions, but if no one uses it, my efforts are better spent elsewhere. Further, particularly in the class specific section, feel free to post comments, questions or alternative strategies. As much as I love to think I know everything about WoW, that simply isn’t the case, and your feedback is welcome and encouraged.
Arena teams: we seem to be breaking down into 2v2 and 3v3 arena teams. That’s fine, as it makes it easier to get together to play. If you’re interested in joining or starting one, say so in guild chat.
Kara: Kara is going to start being limited to people with 1 or no greens on getting priority. We will help you get equipped, just ask. But you MUST know where you need to go to get various pieces of gear. Keep in mind the reputation rewards when shopping for gear as well as enchantments; the various glyphs available at revered are far more useful for head enchants than the +10 stamina armor kits to every single class.
I will not make a minimum stat requirement for Kara runs, but after our performance Sunday, I am leery of just letting people in because they feel excluded or that the same people always get to go. The reason they get to go is because they work well together, know what’s going on, and are equipped to handle the fights.
As a result, I strongly encourage people who want to run Kara to get rid of any and all greens in your equipment. Exceptions tend to be rings and trinkets, but there are MANY excellent blues in those categories as well. This week there will not be an explicit requirement since it’s already Wednesday and because of the Superbowl, I’m not anticipating being able to run on Sunday. But beginning next week, I’m going to start hammering down. This is not to be a thingy. This is not to exclude people who want to go in favor of people who don’t need anything the bosses drop. This is simply a matter of the survival of the raid. For the various fights, especially as we get farther in, greens are unacceptable because it means you can’t do what you need to do (tank, dps, or heal). So again, ASK (don't beg) for runs you need. Find out what instances/quest chains lead to the equipment you want. Look at faction rewards to see if you need to grind rep with someone. See if you can get someone to enchant your gear or craft something to make you better.
I need hunters to work out their own rotation because we have too many in the guild. I will leave it to those affected, but if hunters can't work out when each gets to go in turn, I'll just set something up myself. I hate being dictatorial, but we simply have too many.
Lastly, we (Thalderan and I) are working on setting up a second Kara raid because we should have enough to fill it. So please send either or both of us your availability if you have not already done so, as I can't schedule it without knowing when people can come.
Those are the highlights. See you in game.
